About Us

Neural unwinding And postural intergration

Neural unwinding is a gentle, hands-on approach that works with the nervous system, posture, and breathing to help the body release long-held tension patterns.

Many forms of pain are not just local muscle problems, but the result of how the nervous system has adapted over time—often due to injury, stress, repetitive strain, or past physical experiences. When these patterns persist, the body can become stuck in protective holding that limits movement, breathing, and ease.

Rather than forcing change, this work focuses on creating the conditions that allow the nervous system to settle. As it does, muscles soften, posture reorganizes, and movement becomes more natural and efficient.

Sessions are slow, attentive, and responsive to each individual. The goal is not to “fix” the body, but to support its natural ability to reorganize, regulate, and return to balance.

Neural unwinding And postural integration SPECIALIST at Bodyworks By Brendan

My work grew out of a simple question: Why does the body hold on to pain long after the original cause has passed?

Over years of hands-on training and clinical experience, I came to understand that many chronic pain patterns are not just muscular or structural issues, but expressions of how the nervous system has adapted to stress, injury, and lived experience. When those adaptations remain active, the body can stay locked in protective patterns that limit movement, breathing, and ease.

My approach blends neural unwinding, postural integration, and therapeutic bodywork into a single, coherent method. Rather than forcing tissues to change, I work slowly and attentively, allowing the nervous system to settle and reorganize. As this happens, posture shifts, muscles soften, and movement becomes more natural and efficient.

I have extensive training in therapeutic and sports-oriented bodywork, combined with years of practical experience working with a wide range of bodies and conditions. My sessions are informed by biomechanics, breath, and nervous system regulation—but delivered in a way that feels grounded, safe, and responsive to each individual.

What shapes my work just as much as my education is lived experience. I understand, firsthand, how the body adapts to challenge and how deeply those adaptations can become embedded. That perspective allows me to meet clients with patience, clarity, and respect for the intelligence of their system—without rushing or overriding it.

Sessions are calm, focused, and collaborative. I explain what I’m doing when helpful, and I listen closely to what the body is communicating moment to moment. The goal is not to “fix” the body, but to support its natural ability to regulate, reorganize, and return to balance.

This work is especially suited for people who have tried many approaches and still feel stuck—those who sense that their pain is part of a larger pattern, and are ready for a more integrated, thoughtful approach.

  • My work is grounded, precise, and guided by the belief that the body already knows how to heal when given the right conditions.
  • I believe lasting change begins when the nervous system feels safe enough to let go.

Approach to Healing

how i work

I approach the body as an intelligent, adaptive system shaped by structure, experience, and the nervous system. Pain and tension are rarely isolated problems—they are often the result of patterns the body has developed to protect itself over time.

Rather than forcing change, my work focuses on creating the conditions that allow the nervous system to settle. When this happens, muscles release naturally, posture reorganizes, and movement becomes more efficient without strain.

Sessions are guided by careful listening—through touch, breath, and observation. I work slowly and intentionally, allowing the body to respond at its own pace. This makes the work both effective and sustainable, especially for people who feel stuck or overwhelmed by more aggressive approaches.

By integrating neural unwinding, postural awareness, and hands-on therapeutic techniques, I support the body’s natural ability to regulate and restore balance. The goal is not temporary relief, but meaningful change that the system can maintain.

  • Each session is shaped by the individual in front of me, not a predetermined formula.
  • This work meets the body where it is and supports change from the inside out.
Overview

What To Expect

Each session begins with observation and listening—through posture, movement, breath, and touch. Using my hands, I assess how different areas of the body are holding tension and how the nervous system is organizing around it.

The work is calm, attentive, and responsive. Pressure is applied thoughtfully and adjusted as needed, often working from superficial layers toward deeper patterns as the body allows. Breathing and awareness are gently incorporated to support release without forcing change.

Sessions move at a pace that respects the nervous system. Some areas may unwind quickly, while others require more time and patience. You may notice changes in posture, ease of movement, or a greater sense of calm during and after the session.

The goal is not to push the body, but to support it in letting go of long-held patterns so it can reorganize naturally and sustainably.

Passive and Inactive Stretching

Throughout the session, I pay close attention to your body’s response—and to your feedback—to make sure everything feels right.
At the end, I’ll give you one or two simple exercises. These are designed to help your body hold the changes we’ve made and begin moving in a healthier, more aligned way.

What Should I Wear?

Please wear loose, comfortable clothing—similar to what you might wear for gentle movement, stretching, or relaxation. Soft, flexible fabrics that allow easy movement are ideal.

I typically work through clothing, as it allows for more effective stretching and postural work while helping clients feel comfortable and at ease. This approach also provides greater freedom of movement and clear physical boundaries throughout the session.

While some techniques can be performed directly on the skin, I have found that working through clothing allows for the same depth and effectiveness without the need for oils or lotions. This means you can easily continue with your day after a session without feeling greasy or needing extra time to transition.
