Postural Integration Therapist at Bodyworks By Brendan

Brendan has been a licensed massage therapist since 2004, combining 2 years of schooling with continuing education in the field. His penchant for massage came from a lifetime of experience with injuries and understanding how to deal with pain. He has suffered broken bones, torn his acl, been in casts for years and had back problems from a young age that didn’t resolve until he tried a more holistic approach to rehab. But he didn’t start out in the field of therapy. He began with a degree in mechanical engineering, driven to solve problems in a different way. Over the years, he has accumulated many tools to aid in his work through education and experience.

Brendan is always moving. When he’s not working with his hands he plays on his feet, having gained much experience with years of ballroom dancing. He not only has been running for nearly a decade but practicing Yoga since the age of 25 to help keep everything in balance. With all his flexibility and discipline, taking up Marshal Arts was a easy fit. He received first degree black belt in Tae Kwon and always looking for the next challenge. In the past few years Brendan has received certification in; Physical Training, Gymnastics, Kettlebell and Olympic lifting. Moreover he has join the St. Mary choir and is looking forward to singing for Christmas. His love for all things active makes him someone who truly understands the importance of movement and keeping the body healthy and strong.

My Approach to Healing the Body

I help bring the body back into balance—improving posture, reducing tension, and relieving stress built up from years of misalignment.

This isn’t a quick fix. It takes time, consistency, and a bit of education. As we work together to release tension, spasms, and chronic contractions, the body begins to return to a natural state of balance—called homeostasis. That’s when real healing can begin.

Most of us were never taught how to understand or care for our bodies. My goal is to help you reconnect—to build a relationship with your body that allows for recovery, awareness, and lasting change.

What To Expect

I begin by assessing your body’s alignment—using my hands to feel how different areas are positioned and working together.

From there, I apply a mix of techniques to help bring your body back into balance. These may include:

  • Rhythmic compression

  • Body rocking

  • Pressure point therapy

  • Cross-fiber friction and stripping

  • Traction

  • Passive and inactive stretching

Throughout the session, I pay close attention to your body’s response—and to your feedback—to make sure everything feels right.

At the end, I’ll give you one or two simple exercises. These are designed to help your body hold the changes we’ve made and begin moving in a healthier, more aligned way.

What Should I Wear?

Loose, comfortable clothing—like what you’d wear to sleep or work out—is ideal. I prefer to work through clothing because it allows me to stretch and move your body freely while giving you more control and comfort.

While I can work directly on skin, many clients feel more at ease staying clothed. Over the years, I’ve found that I can get the same results without needing to use oils—so you can easily continue with your day after the session.
